The latest as on the evening of 20110525 is that I will not be able to book a ticket online from my home computer – the whole account with irctc has been ransacked and there wont be any need for them to manipulate the webpages to stop me from booking the ticket.
It all started tonight with me making an effort to book a ticket to thiruvananthapuram on 27 by the maveli express. Rather than allowing me log in to the site of the irctc, I was asked to register my e-mail and mobile number.
I do not use a mobile phone for obvious reasons and the things could have got stuck at that stage. But when the site insisted on the mobile number I gave the number of my usb internet modem that can double up as a phone as well. And that worked and I tried logging in again.
This time my original password was not accepted; I answered the secret question and was asked to give the mobile and e-mail pass word and chose a new password and logged in with the new password.
Now comes stage three; I logged in with the new password and there was a sleeper berth available in one of the very convenient trains and went ahead to see that my bankers name was not in the list. I had to give up.
I thought of trying again and did, this time with firefox browser and tried logging in again; but my newly set password which was accepted last time was rejected.
So I once again tried the forgot password choice but this time the answer to the secret question was being rejected and I was not allowed to go ahead.
ultimately the end has been achieved – my account with irctc has been completely compromised and from now on to book a ticket in a train I will have to make a trip to ernakulam. TREMENDOUS ACHIEVEMENT ON the PART OF THE INDIAN PIMP SERVICE AND their SUB CONTRACTORS !
But why should I bother;
the indian pimp service will be pokking me tomorrow.
