+91(472)2802198 is the number of the automatic complaint booking system of the thiruvananthapuram telecom. and the audio file available for download at the link given above is a recording of the response i got from the system when i tried to register a complaint on the night of feb 16/17 2013 about my home telephone 2802028 which i found was dead.
i was not allowed to record a complaint even after repeated efforts. After feeding the required data the complaint booking system keeps on playing music for quite some time and then instead of giving the complaint number as is the standard practice comes out with a response “ the information requested is not available”. ( I thought the system was supposed to generate the information !)
the line was dead from then on and was not repaired till march 10, 2013.
this month as well my telephone bill was not delivered to me - as usual with all postal articles that are addressed to me the phone bill is delivered or not delivered at the whim of the indian secret police. in deed the previous bill was delivered to me and there was a reason - the bill was to be paid through ecs but it was not marked in the bill and i would have paid taken teh trouble of going to thiruvananthapuram paying by cheque.
i managed to get a copy of the bill for february from the customer service office of the bsnl at cto tvm and i have been charged for the whole month. the fact of the matter is that in case the fault goes on record and the line is not reapaired within a short period i am not to be charged for the period of the disruption.
manipulating the system ensured that the complaint was not registered and i can be charged for the almost one month that the telephone was not working. the question why did you not repair in time does not come up - see the keralites are inherently highly intelligent.
it is 20130330 1210 noon over here and i have been fiddling with my net connection for quite some time now - i have been ignoring the adsl light going off and later lighting up again off and on. as usual the blogger is coming out with a warning the page cannot be saved. the fact is that i dont have permission of the indian secret police to connect directly to the net.
i accessed my google mail account yesterday after a long time and the web site was telling me to change to basic html - they cannot cope with the speed of my connection; it is so fast.
i tried testing the speed yesterday at www.speedtest.net - the ping time was 854mSec and the web facility said they cannot load the data. today i tried again the adsl line was cut off after the facility to check the speed came out with a reply they cannot load data and when the adsl came on again i re connected and clicked try again and this time the speed was shown as 450 kb and 650 kb. may be the strangle hold of the secret police has been loosened for the time being. i have seen the maximum speed in practice as 45 kbp and the usual speed is 12 kbps and this is the broad band connection of the prestigious thiruvananthapuram telecom of bsnl!
nothing can be done about it for this is one of the worst police states in the world. And it is always "advantage police"; the people here worship the police men, regular police or spies.
