Today I had been to thiruvananthapuram city; and I made a surprise visit to an internet browsing facility of one of the main isps of this great nation – I had an account with their internet browsing facility but has not been using it for quite some time now.
The main purpose of my visit to the internet kiosk was to down load one of the latest web browsers. Chrome is not available for download – you have to install it while connected to the net. Internet explorer is the most abused of browsers and if I install it, it may not even open. So I thought I will download firefox's latest version so that I can avail of the many functionalities on the web which are not available with the older versions of the browser.
I paid Rs.34 for one hour and the 19MB browser was downloaded in a jiffy – the connection was real fast. Then I started downloading some podcasts from the bbc to put to use the remaining time for the one hour has to be used up the same day.
Later I wanted to copy the downloads on to my usb to take it home; but the firefox that has been downloaded was not visible anywhere. At my request the staff member on duty also tried to locate the file, but could not find it anywhere on their network.
So I decided to download it again – I had enough and more browsing time left. But this time the firefox down load will not start. I tried all the tricks like using a different browser, trying other download centers – nothing worked.
The excuse put up by one of the staff members was that they had found that firefox was no more downloading.
Do you think that the download ceter of mozilla could have been compromised ?
Then how come it was downloaded initially? the reason is simple - obvious to any "policekaran; it was just another of the delusions/ illusions/ hallucinations of my diseased mind -
Enne changalakkitoo, priyapetta bandhukkalle.
By the way, my last month's telephone bill was been paid under the ECS of the SBI – the fact that the phone has not been working for more than a fortnight now is altogether different issue.
